Evergreen Life Limited, a Bermuda life insurance company that specializes in Private Placement Variable Universal Life Insurance, had been growing slowly but steadily since its founding in 2008. In 2019, the company experienced explosive growth. As new policies poured in and revenue surged, the team quickly outgrew its aging software. 

Evergreen’s original system, built in 2010 by a solo developer, had worked well enough in the early days. But as the business scaled, the limitations became obvious. Creating a single policy could take over an hour, and even small changes required going back to the original developer. Over time, the system had been held together with quick fixes rather than real improvements—making it slow, rigid, and increasingly unreliable.

As the team prepared for continued growth, it became clear they needed a modern, scalable solution that could eliminate manual inefficiencies, reduce reliance on outside support, and keep pace with a fast-moving business. Evergreen was referred to InterSoft, who stepped in immediately to address these concerns using a highly customized approach.

Solution

InterSoft developed a reliable platform that could handle larger, more complex policies while simplifying everyday tasks. The new system featured a clean interface with intuitive navigation, a secure portal for policyholders to access their documents, and a flexible framework that allowed Evergreen team members to make updates faster and more easily.  

InterSoft migrated Evergreen’s entire policy database over from the old system, giving the client the tools and visibility to review the data throughout the entire process. This collaborative approach allowed the Evergreen stakeholders to decide what to keep, what to archive, and how to organize it for the way they wanted the business to operate. 

Beyond the initial ask, the InterSoft team also looked at Evergreen’s workflows and identified additional processes that could be streamlined. As a result, the team is now working on a feature that will fully automate the manual and time-consuming process of uploading and releasing valuation statements.  

From the beginning, InterSoft listened, offered solutions the team hadn’t considered, and built tools designed to improve speed, usability, and control.
